The Newbold Law Firm is the solo law practice of attorney Matthew T. Newbold, Esq. Matt is licensed to practice law in both California and Utah. His practice includes business and trust litigation, Estate Planning, Probate, Personal Injury, Franchising and Business Contracts.
Education
Matt received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University – Hawaii, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He received his law degree from Brigham Young University – J. Reuben Clark Law School. While in law school, he worked as a research and editing assistant for one of his law professors, attorney Robert S. Tippett, who published the well-respected treatise The Utah Law of Trusts & Estates.
Professional Career
After law school, Matt worked at an estate planning and business law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. Since moving back to his hometown of San Diego and opening the Newbold Law Firm, Matt has counseled and assisted many clientsin their estate planning, franchising and business needs, and has represented clients in various business, probate and personal injury litigation matters, including contract disputes, franchisee/franchisor disputes, trustee/beneficiary disputes and many more. He is currently of counsel at:
Rostam Law, a general practice litigation firm based in Los Angeles, California; and
Franchise Smith, a law firm that represents franchise clients from across the nation and internationally.
Personal Interests
Matt is a native of San Diego County. Some of his personal hobbies include surfing, playing the guitar and rooting for the Padres and the Chargers.
